We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic client care home team. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of catering services across various settings in health care, including residential care homes, supported living accommodations, and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in the field of healthcare & providing a hospitable service, with a keen eye for detail and excellent guest interaction skills. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your culinary and customer service expertise while contributing to memorable dining experiences. 

Responsibilities

  •  Assisting in the preparation and presentation of food items in accordance with hygiene standards and company policies 
  •  Serving food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner 
  •  Ensuring all food safety regulations are adhered to during food handling and storage 
  •  Setting up catering events, including arranging tables, linens, and serving stations 
  •  Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment throughout service periods 
  •  Supporting the team in organising catering supplies and stock levels  Providing exceptional guest services by addressing customer needs promptly and courteously 
  •  Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or catering environments is desirable, including restaurant or hotel experience 
  •  Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures 
  •  Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods 
  •  Excellent communication and guest service skills, demonstrating professionalism at all times 
  •  Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting  Flexibility to adapt to different roles within catering operations, including serving and setup duties 
  •  A friendly demeanour with a proactive approach to customer satisfaction  This is a temporary-to-permanent role with full-time hours.

Work Pattern & Requests

  •  The candidate will need to be available to work. Full-time, as this role will be Monday to Friday (5 days per week) from 7 am to 3 pm. 
  •  The role is considered to be temporary to permanent. 
  •  Experience is required in ideally catering/hospitality, knowledge of at least 6 months. 
  •  Candidates with DBS not less than 3 months old will be preferred.  Qualifications good to have: Food Hygiene Certificate. 
  •  Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, making coffee, serving customers, cleaning, and other general duties. 
  •  A good grasp of written and spoken English is essential.
