Job Description

The Community Nurse is responsible for providing essential healthcare services to individuals and families within a specific community. This role involves promoting health, preventing disease, and caring for those in need.

Responsibilities

  • Health Promotion and Education:
    • Conduct health education programs and workshops on various topics, such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
    • Promote healthy lifestyles and encourage regular health check-ups.
    • Provide information on available health resources and services.
  • Disease Prevention:
    • Implement disease prevention programs and initiatives.
    • Conduct screenings and early detection activities for common diseases.
    • Educate the community about vaccination and immunization programs.
  • Home Health Care:
    • Provide home health care services to patients who require ongoing medical attention.
    • Assess patients’ needs and develop care plans.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
    • Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes.
  • Community Outreach:
    • Establish relationships with community partners and organizations.
    • Participate in community events and activities.
    • Advocate for the health needs of the community.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Assist in emergency response efforts, such as disaster relief and public health emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience in community health or public health preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for improving the health and well-being of the community
