The General Nurse is responsible for providing essential healthcare services to patients of all ages in a variety of healthcare settings. This role involves assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, and providing compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify health needs and develop care plans.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to physicians.
  • Assess pain levels and administer appropriate pain management.
• Medication Administration:
  • Administer medications accurately and safely, following prescribed dosages and routes.
  • Monitor for adverse reactions and report any side effects.
• Treatment Administration:
  • Assist with various medical procedures and treatments, such as wound care, catheterization, and intravenous therapy.
• Patient Education:
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care.
  • Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care recommendations.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documenting assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
• Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning.
